Before you continue, you might wish to interpret this finding observed in the eradication program for bovine tuberculosis in cattle in the United States.

Cattle were given a tuberculin test and those positive were slaughtered and underwent necropsy.  If the animal had an infection with M. bovis, a tuberculous lesion should be found.  How can this finding be interpreted?
