Epidemiologic basis of tuberculosis control

Slide show

This slide show takes you through the epidemiologic basis of tuberculosis control.  It consists of a series of about 180 slides.

It moves systematically along the pathogenesis of tuberculosis, that is from exposure to Mycobacterium tuberculosis, to latent tuberculous infection (infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis without evidence of disease), to tuberculosis, and to death from tuberculosis.

In each step of the pathogenesis, risk factors, risk groups, and prospects for its future development are discussed.

The approach is through the presentation of examples taken from the bio-medical literature that convey the principles about the points being made.

Each page contains a slide and a narrative.

Objective: By the end of the slide show, the student will have a firm understanding of the dynamics of tuberculosis.

You can go to an inventory of all slides by number of sequence.  This might be helpful if you stop working, but would like to resume later at the point where you left.

You can download the entire slide show presentation in Microsoft PowerPoint™ format (without annotations) by clicking on PPT slides.
