Intervention for tuberculosis control and elimiation

Slide show

This slide show takes you through the available intervention for tuberculosis control and elimination.  It consists of a series of 137 slides.

It follows the same model as used in epidemiology, starting with chemotherapy that reduces risk of exposure and thus infection in the community; prophylactic treatment that reduces the risk of becoming infected in case of exposure; BCG vaccination for the uninfected to reduce the risk of tuberculosis in case infection is acquired subsequent to vaccination; and preventive therapy given to persons already subclinically (latently) infected to reduce their risk of progression to tuberculosis.

Each page contains a slide and a narrative .

Objective: By the end of the slide show, the student will have a firm understanding of the available interventions for tuberculosis control and elimination.

You can go to an inventory of all slides by number of sequence.  This might be helpful if you stop working, but would like to resume later at the point where you left.
